S. I. HAYAKAWA(1906-1992) He was a Canadian-born American academic
and politician of Japanese ancestry. A professor of English,
he served as president of San Francisco State University,
and then as U.S. Senator from California from 1977-83.
Typed letter signed (authentically), November 6, 1972,
regarding the Boy Scouts, plus a second letter signed (????),
December 29, 1972, offering permission to
publish the first letter.
