    Handwritten letter signed by G.G. Dibrell, dated 15 Dec, 1877.  Letter is written to the Postmaster General, David M. Key recommending Col. Gordon for the Postmaster position in Wilmington, DE.  Measures 5" x 8".  Comes complete with Certificate of Authenticity.

    (April 12, 1822 – May 9, 1888) was an American lawyer
    and a five-term member of the United States House of Representatives
    from the 3rd Congressional District of Tennessee
    . He also served as a general in the Confederate States Army
    during the American Civil War
    and as a railroad executive.
